My strawberry plant’s leaves are turning brown and I do not know what I am doing wrong! Am I overwatering or under watering? Someone please help me please and thank you!

Currently having issues with mine as well. I was using a moisture meter and it was saying the soil was very wet for a long period of time. I would test using your finger at least. It could even be minerals in your tap water. Your plant looks good otherwise. I’m not convinced mine will come back from the spider mites it has

Strawberry plants are very fragile!! Growing up my great grandpa grew them religiously and one thing I did notice was he watered them at night!!! It could be a little too hot during the day to water, sunlight and water can also burn/boil the roots!

Potassium deficiency can also affect the damage done when watered in the sunlight.

If the soil is really damp, overwatering. If it’s dry, underwatering. They should be moist but not to the point it’s flooded and doesn’t have moments where the soil is slightly dried out in between watering.

I grew these plants when I was younger and I had to water it in the morning and evening. If it received a lot of sunlight, I would water it in the afternoon too.

I would monitor the soil to determine if it needed more or less water based on the amount of moisture. If the plant got worse, I needed to change what I was doing initially.

I think it’s mostly trial and error when learning by observation: considering possibilities, adjusting to one possibility, eliminating the others based off whether the plant’s condition improves or declines over the course of a day or two.

If you want to grow more strawberries, I suggest repotting them when they’re doing better into a bigger pot or area. These things grow like weeds once you get the hang of it. They produce feeders which allows the plant to continually reproduce. I think you can cut the feeders and individually plant them, but I’m not entirely sure, so you’ll have to fact check me on that. I could also see a way where you buy a pot and don’t cut the feeder/long stem until it’s been established in another pot.
