Does anyone know why my bamboo plant keeps yellowing? I give it plenty over water but I don’t think I overwater it.

(Not a professional haha but I do have bamboo that’s lasted years!) Bamboo thrives and lives in water so as long as the pot is full of water, the watering shouldn’t be a problem. Make sure it’s not getting too much sun! Once a bamboo yellows, there’s no saving the yellow part. I would check the roots for rot, and separate the living branches from the yellow ones and repot the living ones (you can use the same pot).

Ok thanks! Do I just cut the yellow off and the green but repot the green? Also would water be better for the propagations?

I could be wrong, but I think it’s a bit too late to save the yellow bamboo culm, so I would take the whole yellow one out and separate it from the ones that are totally green. When you do this, check the green bamboo for any root rot just to ensure that they are still healthy too. And yes only water is good for bamboo propagation! When the new roots grow into the water, you could probably repot it in some bamboo stones and water. (Just in case I’m wrong I’d do a quick google or Youtube search!)

Ok thanks!

Should I separate all the stalks? It has all healthy roots and no root rot.

Just the yellow one from the green! The green ones can stay together. Yay good roots!
