# I got this flame violet from someone, it looked healthy when I got it…

I got this flame violet from someone, it looked healthy when I got it and within a week the leaves started browning, I don't have much natural lighting in my apartment so I got some grow lights, thinking maybe it wasn't getting enough light, the soil seems a normal wetness. Anyone have any idea why the leaves are browning and what I can do to make it healthy again?

I think the pot might be too big. Try putting it in a much smaller pot. And looser soil. The soil looks too dense for the delicate roots. Try orchid mix. Good luck! 🦋🐞

I have mine in a glass jar with leca and water. I’m not the best at consistent watering during the winter and they love water from what I have experiences. Because of doing that mine is thriving, it actually blooms every year.
