# Noticed some spots on my snake plants today. Maybe red leaf spot?…

_Gepostet von Wendy am 2024-07-16_

Noticed some spots on my snake plants today. Maybe red leaf spot? Immediately overreacted, isolated it, and cut a few leaves. Wiped the remaining leaves after with some hypochlorous acid before I snapped out of it. Did I just kill her for no reason? 😭

are all the plants leaves wrinkly like this one?

Slightly on the backs where they dip down into the soil or on the back where the tips are. I’ll include a few pictures for reference!

There’s a lot of overwatering happening on planta so it feels refreshing to ask this 😂 ….is it possible you’re underwatering? Where does this live? Proximity to window and what direction does the window face? And how often do you water?

I guess that is pretty refreshing! lol It lives in a NE facing window! Not ideal, I know but it’s the sunniest window in our little condo. It had been doing great for a while and even pushed up a new rosette not too long ago…

I did forget about it for a month though and just barely watered before an untimely death…It seemed to revive okay until I saw the spots! I usually test by how light/dry the pot feels and then give it a good soaking before I forget about it again for about two weeks.
Hope I didn’t just kill it 😬 Or resign it to fungal disease…

Underwatering here yields a much better prognosis! Have you ever repotted?

#### Wendy antwortete am 2024-07-16

I have not! Been about a year since I got her too. Maybe it’s time for a bigger home?

yes! i would upgrade the pot \& use terra cotta, which helps dry out the soil well \& more quickly than plastic.

Got it! Thank you so much! 😊
