# So I’ve had this aloe plant for about 3 years and after I moved it…

_Publicado por Gabby el 2025-06-16_

So I’ve had this aloe plant for about 3 years and after I moved it began to get really skinny and lose leaves. I repotted it when it was big but now it’s a little small. Should I repot back in a smaller pot? Any suggestions on how to recover the plant? It still continues to grow new leaves but they die pretty quickly or stay thin and shrivel up. I water it about every 3 weeks.

Aloe plants thrive in snug spaces and don’t do well when given too much room. Gently peel away the dry, brown areas and repot the plant using a succulent mix combined with perlite.

Thank you! I’m going to try repotting her in a smaller pot. I had originally repotted into a bigger pot because she was much bigger but now she looks bald 🥹😂

If this is helpful, pot size should only be about an inch larger than the root ball, no matter the size of the plant

And that goes for all plants, so keep in mind when deciding to repot
