I’m sorry. When mine did that it had some decay, possibly from overwatering.

You may want to check the roots and maybe repot with fresh soil.

Need a photo of the entire plant to see the overall health. Crispy tips on the leaves could be under watering. Soft brown leaf tips and markings could be under watering. Yellowing before going brown could be inadequate lighting or an overwatering issue.

Definitely, check for rotting musty roots, an overwatering condition. Fungus gnats gravitate to the rot. They are another sign of overwatering. 🍀🪴

Also these, despite being called low maintenance, do prefer distilled water.

Hi, Just to politely weigh in, I have several spider plants and haven’t had any problem using our tap water. However, that doesn’t insure that all tap water will be compatible.
