# The newest leaf on my Monstera Deliciosa is very small compared to…

_Publicado por Casey el 2024-08-26_

The newest leaf on my Monstera Deliciosa is very small compared to the previous one and has brown parts.

There was a night a couple weeks ago where it got cold near a window low 60F or high 50F. And another time I bottom watered for a couple hours. I’m not sure if one of the above was the issue or maybe there is a pest?

Any help would be appreciated!

I think it’s usually from the temperature changing rapidly or extremely. As long as you fixed the issue (moving it from the window). Then the next leaves should be fine. Just keep an eye on it!

If I see a leaf I don’t like I chop it off but you can leave it too :)

Is it getting enough sun? Regular watering ? It could be a lack of light or an inconsistent watering schedule , this happens to my alocasias when they don’t have enough light and/or if their getting water at weird times , hope this helps !

Sun might be an issue. I recently move it farther from the window and put some smaller plants in front. I also water at night usually, I heard you’re suppose to water in the morning.

Try changing both of those things! I’m sure it’ll help :)
