# Hi all! I’m a new gardener and got this peace Lilly about a couple…

Hi all! I’m a new gardener and got this peace Lilly about a couple weeks ago. I haven’t repotted it yet and have given it a fertilizer stick a couple days ago. Unfortunately some of its leaves and flowers are starting to die off I can’t figure out what’s wrong with it :( any ideas on how to help it?

Looks healthy and ready to be trimmed. Check the roots and see if she needs a bigger home and maybe better bedding(as in soil) add some perlite as well it helps a lot.

Okay thanks so much I’ll try that out! Do you just add perlite to the top of the soil?

No, it would be mixed in. This app has recommended soil, I prefer pro-mix , tho I haven’t tried Planta’s yet.

Definitely mixed it in fine.

Perlite helps fight bacterial infections within plants and also helps the soil breath better in my opinion it’s universal even though planta does have recommendations for specific plants.
