I just rescued this plant from Lowe’s. One friend says I have thrips another friend says it’s just light spots on the leaves. I’ve showered it twice and checked and I don’t see any bugs moving around.

Looks like the plants normal coloration. I’ve learned the hard way to always shower and spray each new plant with neem oil \& soap solution. Never hurts! 🌱

I don’t have any neem oil
Should I lather the leaves with dawn soap and shower again ? I don’t want to keep messing with it. I repotted it today and showered it twice

It looks like a normal spots for this type of dieffenbachia.

I would leave as is, I’ve got the same plant and white is normal on undersides. You’ve already done more than enough with showering and repotting! I would let it settle in now to its new home :)
