# Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my Kerri Hoya? It was perfectly…

_Publicado por trashprince el 2025-07-14_

Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my Kerri Hoya? It was perfectly fine a couple weeks ago and then it slowly started dropping leaves. They'd get these brown spots all over almost like they were rotting? It's literally been fine for a while now. Hasn't been moved or anything. I don't want it to die 😭 I wanna save it before it's too late. Does anyone have any advice? Help please. It definitely used to be more green as well, like that top leaf... What am I doing wrong? Edit: Also everytime I try to water it, the water goes straight through. So I don't know what to do to combat that either?

Sounds like maybe it doesn’t have many roots. I would take it out and see what’s going on. Also, yellow leaves and brown spots are often indicators of some kind of pest.

If it doesn't have many roots, is there something that can be done about that? I am definitely suffering from fungus gnats... Could that be why?

That could be why. Although they aren’t usually a problem an excess of them can cause issues. I recommend a zevo gnat trap, they work so well!!! If it doesn’t have many roots then I would reccomend putting it in a small pot and giving it ideal conditions. Overtime it will grow more roots.
