# I would love some help on this palm.. got it like a month \& a half…

I would love some help on this palm.. got it like a month \& a half ago. Why does it start turning yellow?

I’m scared to over water it so does anyone have a routine that works? I probably watered it twice since I got it 😬It sits under a 11w grow light for 12 hours daily.

Do you know what the humidity is like in your house?

In this room it’s around 50-55

That’s pretty good, I would say that’s the lower end of what they prefer though.

My only recommendations would be make sure you have it in a really coarse well draining soil, you may have to amend with bark, leca.

The window could be an issue if it’s getting a draft.

I have a really small neanthe bella palm, and I just water it as soon as its dry again. Just stick your finger in the top inch or so of the soil, and if its completely dry you're probably good. Most of my plants are in small pots, so idk if you would need to wait a little longer yet to water because of that.
