My plant is dying and I don't know how. It has no pests and I've been watering it once every week. My mom cut off a piece hoping it'll grow back. I've had this plabt for years, what should I do?

Seriously no offense meant at all… but this is the most whack ass money tree I’ve ever seen

If it were mine, I would probably chop it down halfway, but I have been in a chopping spree lately with any plant that I see isn’t living its best life.

Update! I've come to the realization that the plant is suffering from root rot! The bark is starting to become more squishy than usual. How should I cut and repot the plant?
