I saw this mushroom on my oxalis a few months ago. Did a little research- Leucocoprinus birmbaunii: it’s harmless, but I wanted to remove bc of spores that I do NOT want in my lungs. Keeps coming back!! I literally unpot the d@mn thing and remove all the fungus and it still keeps growing back!! How do I fix??? Completely new pot and soil?? Grew like twice the size in 24 hours!! (Don’t judge the name of the plant I just like Hazbin Hotel)

I have the exact same thing growing in one of my African Violets. Can’t get rid of it so I’ve decided to move all my plants including my AV’s to lecca. This weekend my woes with this blasted thing will be over.

mushrooms are usually a sign of good soil

Mushrooms grow in / on decaying matter. They are a good sign of healthy soil. I would not bother changing the soil other than when the plant needs it. When you see the mushrooms developing simply scrape them off. Use a tool or gloves because some mushrooms are toxic for humans but they are excellent in the soil. Personally I think they're sometimes pretty too depending on the variety.

I had this issue with one of my snake plants. I removed them. Sprayed with copper fungicide and let the soil completely dry before I water. Haven't seen them since and the plant is thriving..

If theyre that large, they have spored. Which is why they keep coming backYou'd need to sanitize the plant and soil. The plant with peroxide spray. The soil with boiling water and let it dry out.

Mushrooms release nutrients into the soil that are beneficial to your plant. You can choose to get rid of them of course but they're really a sign of healthy soil and beneficial to your plant. If the soil lacks organic matter the mushrooms will go away on their own but your soil will be poor for your plants.

Oh! I didn’t know that. I would keep them but I just don’t really like mushrooms (some species are cute tho) bc I’ve seen these fungi called cordyceps that take over an ants’ brain. I also have a sensitive respiratory system and I just can’t have those spores floating around.

Then you should get rid of them. No point in aggravating your system.
