What is wrong with my flamingo lily? I bought it like this from FB marketplace and I have never owned one before so I don't know much about these.

The plant in the image appears to be suffering from a common issue related to care, most likely involving improper watering, humidity, or light conditions. Here are some potential causes and solutions for the damage seen on this flamingo lily (\*Anthurium\*):

1\. \*\*Overwatering or Underwatering\*\*:
\- \*\*Overwatering\*\* can cause root rot, leading to yellowing or browning leaves. Ensure the plant's pot has proper drainage and that the soil is not overly waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out before watering again.
\- \*\*Underwatering\*\* may cause leaf edges to dry out and become crispy. Be sure to water when the top of the soil feels dry but avoid letting the plant sit in water.

2\. \*\*Humidity Levels\*\*:
\- Flamingo lilies thrive in high humidity environments. If the air is too dry, especially indoors with air conditioning or heating, the leaves can brown and curl. Consider misting the plant, using a humidity tray, or placing a humidifier nearby.

3\. \*\*Light Conditions\*\*:
\- Direct sunlight may burn the leaves, causing browning. Ensure the plant is in bright but \*\*indirect light\*\*. If it's too close to a window where it gets direct sun, try moving it to a slightly shadier spot.

4\. \*\*Nutrient Deficiency\*\*:
\- If your friend hasn't fertilized the plant recently, it might be lacking essential nutrients. Consider using a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer every couple of months during the growing season (spring and summer).

5\. \*\*Temperature Fluctuations\*\*:
\- Flamingo lilies prefer stable, warm temperatures. If the plant is exposed to drafts, sudden temperature changes, or cold windowsills, the leaves may become damaged. Keep it in a room with stable temperatures above 65°F.

Addressing these factors can help revive the plant. Encourage your friend to monitor the soil moisture and humidity more closely to prevent further damage.

Thank you! I am getting a different planter for it as we speak. The one it is in does not drain. I fertilized it for her and a mister is on the way as well.
