Hi everyone! I've got a question about how to best support my triostar. Ever since I separated the plant into two parts, this fella has not been doing great: first he got mold in his pot, then I tried watering him less - he dried out and started shedding leaves daily. A few months ago I changed his pot to a smaller one and changed the soil, and now make sure to water and mist more often to make sure he has enough. His other half seems to have bounced back perfectly, having much the same pot, location, and watering schedule, but this guy is still quite sad. I fertilized him today, if it's a nutrients problem. I'd appreciate any advice as to this little man, I want to make him happy:) Thanks gang!🩷

By the way, Planta says to water triostars every 12th day, but this guy is dry and crispy at the tips, so I mist every second day and water whenever the top soil is dry, which is more like every 5 days. Again, the second half of his is doing awesome, I wonder what this fella could need. Photo of the second guy for reference:

The dry tips look like mineral build up from the water. Try using filtered water! I recently got a Phox water jug for this reason

Here to learn too. Same situation! I know I don’t have the right humidity for it. Other than that, I don’t know.

These divas!!! I have a large one (I think my profile is “open”) that is never “perfect”. But I’ve had her for 3 or 4 years and she puts out leaves in the winter so I’m doing something right.

I only use filtered water, she’s in a chunky, well aerated mix, and I run a humidifier, right by her, during the day, water when almost all the way dry. I would like to see more pink in her variegation, but haven’t had time to deep dive on how to do that.

I’d be careful about misting vs a humidifier. This can cause issues as well. The curled leaves says she needs more water or humidity.

Goodness! I couldn't believe they don't have enough water in our humid climate, and my misting every day, but I just watered them both into the drip tray to see how much they soak up and if they're thirsty at all, and I saw the water disappearing with the naked eye! My god. Thank you all for the advice!
