# Do these roots look ok? There were a few mushy black roots at the…

Do these roots look ok?  
There were a few mushy black roots at the very bottom so I think I caught it in super early stage of root rot.  
Also, I thought I saw black bugs in the soil of this plant before I threw the soil away. Is there anything else I need to do to this plant to treat/prevent bugs or is it ok since I’ve drowned it?

Roots like fine. White and healthy. Less moist soil will help prevent bugs in the future
