I think it’s definitely salvageable. Check the roots and maybe try splitting it up into two smaller pots, that way you can test different methods to rehab them and see which one works best without risking killing all the plant. Looks to be a tradescantia, and they’re fast propagators in water, so worst case scenario, trim what’s healthy off and try to propagate it. It’s possible it’s a repens. They’re actually very similar in leaf patterns 😬 I‘m leaning towards tradescantia, but here’s two IDs for it so you can compare it to your plant to confirm.
