# Does it feel like there are more pests this year than last year or is…

Does it feel like there are more pests this year than last year or is it just my plants? I hunt for caterpillars, snails and aphids every morning on my outside plants. I’ve fought spider mites on my indoor plants. Now, I’m seeing slugs outside! I never saw slugs in my yard. Maybe the weekly heavy rains are driving them to go vertical. 🤔💬

Definitely! I live in Oregon and it’s been cold and wet this year, I just weeded my front garden and have never screamed so much. I’m terrified of worms and slugs, gardening and I aren’t the best fit lol

lol I hear you, I hate those slimy sluggy wiggly things haha  
But yeah! I’ve battled spider mites on my outdoor salvias this year and it’s so annoying, having to gas out those buggers every day, the other day I gave the whole plant a bath in neem oil water 🙄

I have dunked my entire plant and pot in a 5 gallon bucket of Dawn dishwater. I kept it under water for an hour until I felt everything died. That’s how my 3 months battle with aphids and spider mites ended.

That’s smart, problem is my salvia plant and pot are about 3 feet tall and two feet wide so I don’t know if anything I could do that with lol

Slugs are beneficial! They turn plant waste into compost

I didn’t know that! But they love to eat the leaves. What’s the compromise?

Ugh spider mites are the worst!! They killed 3 of my plants before I could save them. Grrrrrrrrrr!
