# I’m trying to figure out what in the world happened to the leaf bud…

_Gepostet von ArchNouveau am 2025-01-05_

I’m trying to figure out what in the world happened to the leaf bud on my Chinese evergreen! The first picture is what it looks like today, the second picture is what it looked like just a couple days ago. I know for a fact It looked the same as picture number 2 as recently as yesterday morning. Any ideas? Should I leave it or trim it? If I should trim it, where? Edit: Just saw the thing in picture number 3 laying on top of the soil, must have fallen off. I guess it was a flower and not a leaf? But why did it fall off? Plant seems perfectly happy otherwise.

That is an inflorescence. It looks really dry. I would trim it off close to the base. That way they plant isn't putting energy into it
