# Hi there, I’m helping my co-worker revive his bamboo plant. Last…

_Geplaatst door CandyTC🪷 op 2024-07-01_

Hi there, I’m helping my co-worker revive his bamboo plant. Last picture shows what it looked like when I first got it- all yellow leaves, stalks, etc. I’ve since removed all the yellow leaves, took it out of the original pot and saw that all the roots were orange and kindda smelly.
I removed all the roots, kept the green stems and then I removed all the remaining yellow leaves around.
I separated the stems, cleaned the rocks in came in and put in a new jar with clean water.
Is there anything else that I can do to make sure I can revive this poor baby? 🎋
Appreciate any help or insights, thank you!!

I think you’re doing the most!! Looks like you’ve got it under control — nice work 👏

are you using tap water or purified water? sometimes the minerals in tap water can harm the plant! Also, since the roots are orange and a bit stinky, I would put a little bit of peroxide on the roots to disinfect them in case of rotting or infection! :)) otherwise you’re doing great!

Orange roots on lucky bamboo are 100% normal. That’s the way they are supposed to look.

I’m just learning that now too, and kindda kicking myself for trimming them all out. I was concerned that they smelled a bit so I thought they were root rot. I hope the new, shorter stalks would still root.
