# Can this baby be saved!?! I started noticing yellowing leaves and…

_Opslået af April den 2024-12-10_

Can this baby be saved!?! I started noticing yellowing leaves and realized that the soil was way too wet, but now I think the soil is way too dry. I can’t seem to find a happy medium yet. I watered it today with distilled water and hope she might bounce back, but is it possibly too late?
When I follow the original watering schedule, it was too damp, I think I let it go too long without watering. Fingers crossed.

Take off the yellow leaves. They're just a burden and will further stress them. It doesn't look bad. Those pots with the like single hole drain into attached tray, usually hold wet in them. So that might be the issue.

I’d check for root rot and remove any you find.
Then I’d make sure if you’re going to maintain using that pot, to definitely make the soil a more airy type. I added perlite and coco bark to Black Gold regular potting soil, so it was nice and chunky, and that seems to have worked pretty well for the plants I’ve potted in it. I make sure plants in glazed pots have extra chunky soil because I’m more likely to overwater than underwater.

It’s in a pretty chunky mix right now. That’s what it came in. It’s a mixture of orchid bark, large perlite, and clay pebbles, with a little bit of soil mixed in. I was following the watering schedule on here, but I realized the soil was staying too wet so I slowed down on the watering, then the soil ended up getting too dry, so she’s bounced back-and-forth between overwatered and under watered. I’m just hoping she will bounce back now that I’ve re-watered to wet the soil up a bit. I removed the yellow leaves, it’s just sad because she was really pretty when I first got her and I feel bad for letting her get like this😢
