Hi all!

I have a hoya krimson queen and a hoya carnosa ripple that both have mealy bugs. It's been an ongoing issue for months. I feel like I've tried everything besides repotting. Neem oil, combing through the entire plant with rubbing alcohol and q-tips, spraying the whole plant with alcohol, quarantine, every combination of those things. It's mostly targeting hoyas and I'm so frustrated and tired of trying to treat it without success, any tips?

Lady bugs. Or try something besides neem, it doesn't work well on them. You could use a systemic, that was the only way I got it off my marble queen

I know a user on here (Sunny) was in a similar situation to you a couple months ago and she tried everything everything and had to go for raid spray at the bitter end. Maybe try systemic first if these seem to be impermeable

Mine still died. 😩😭 That hoya Krimson Queen was my favorite and also a mealy bug magnet! Four other plants were next to and touched that plant. None of them had mealy bugs issues. I believe the bugs and the multiple eradication chemicals killed it off. I have a small Krimson Queen. I placed it in an area near the tree frogs and lizards breakfast area outside. No pest issues.

Oh no! Ugh, she was such a beauty too, that is so strange, yeah it must’ve just weakened it to no end. Oh good lol, well win win, the frogs and lizards can have a feast and you can hopefully keep this one pest free

I wish I lived in a climate where that was an option. Thanks for the input!
