Hi everyone! Today I managed to rescue this Monstera from a friend, but am a little unsure on how to help her 🤔

I think repotting is a definite must, but how can I help with the current leaves? Different websites say different things - some say overwatering and too much sunlight, whereas others say it could be a fungal infection?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

you won’t know until you get it out of that pot and see what’s going on with the roots — i suspect overwatering/rot

those leaves look burnt to me, i just had to remove a few of my monsteras’ leaves with similar markings after they were left too long on the porch during a heat wave.

I would cut off any leaves that are really nasty or more than half damaged, but if they’re only a bit damaged I would keep them around so that the plant can take up enough light to grow nice new leaves. If there is reddish dust on the underside of the leaves then it could be a fungus issue otherwise it will be caused by watering
