# Hi friends, I posted on the overall plant thread but thought I might…

Hi friends, I posted on the overall plant thread but thought I might get more help here. I’m really worried about this guy Dink. I got him when he was nearly dead and only had one leaf. Since I got him he perked up so much and has sprouted 4 new leaves and has been doing SO well. Until about 4ish days ago now, he started drooping again. I realized I had overwatered him and he had been sitting in water for a couple days. I took him out of his big pot (pictures are his tiny pot) and put him on a paper towel to dry in a warm environment. But he hasn’t perked up in the slightest and I’m really worried about him 😞 what do I do and how do I save him? I want my perky Dink back 😭

have you taken it all the way out of the medium? you gotta get eyes on those roots \& remove any mushy or smelly stuff before it gets away from you! Good luck \& post roots pics if you need to 😊

unfortunately there’s nothing to be done for those leaves even if your roots aren’t shot 🤞🏻

Thank you for the reply! I looked at his roots this morning and I didn’t see anything too sketchy but I’m also not 100% sure what to look for. Also can you define “smelly”? 😭 he just smells like dirt and plant to me 😭

that’s a good sign — you’d know the smell when you smell it lol it’s bad!
