I can't make this guy happy 🤬 he's due for a repot, but ever since i got him the minute a whiff of dry is felt, he's wilting his butt off. 😑 anyone else have one? Farfugium japonicum 'firefly' I haven't actually seen many as house plants, most of the info is for outdoors. Which i may try this spring/summer. Maybe a self watering pot? They seem to be kind of an understood plant. In a west window with lots of light, also from a south window kitty korner. Misted every other day. Silica w/every water. Fertilized every 2 weeks. No pests.

Don’t have this plant but have some ideas you could try lol. Yeah maybe a self watering pot, orrrr have you tried semi hydro? It might like the water reservoir and it’s easier to regulate than the whole wick system. I’m not one to majorly harp about bottom watering but I do know some plants prefer that, so you could try it if you don’t want to switch pots or mediums right away.

The pot he's in has a reservoir on the bottom, it is tiny, like 1/4 cup. That's a good point though, I have one with a larger one

Yeah I’d suggest maybe a larger one, especially if he’s root bound

From just a quick google search because I’ve never seen this one, it seems they like warm, consistently moist, shaded environments. So I’d try less sun or indirect light.

It gets shade 1/2 the day. But seems to really like the sun. No scorching or anything. I think its the wet component, and keeping him moist, like you mention
