Clipping won’t cause further harm. I’m not sure clipping will help it survive. You have to determine the cause of the withering. Too much sun? Lack of fertilizer? Insufficient or excess water? Check the roots for dryness or rot. It may be easier to start with a new plant. I recommend gradually repotting to larger containers until the plant is strong enough for a large pot.

Also, use plant ties/tape to avoid abrasion from zip ties. 🪴🍀
