# Hello I made a new batch of potting mix with nothing more than…

Hello I made a new batch of potting mix with nothing more than organic potting soil, perlite \&\& orchid bark. I’ve been noticing this white fuzz on some of my repots it looks like mold to me. Will this harm the plants? How can I get rid of this, I repotted this last Saturday \&\& within a few days I can see the white fuzz on them, not only at the top of the substrate but within it as well. Thanks in advance

It’s mold and no it doesn’t harm the plant. It is because you are using an organic potting mix. It can also happen with other non-organic types, but it is when you are on the verge of overwatering usually, or keeping the soil consistently moist (whether it is what the plant likes or not is a diff issue).
