Someone help!!

This is my first string of hearts and she was thriving for a few months but now her stems are breaking off and the bottom hearts are mushy and broke off😭! I think I have overwatered it but I was following the Planta schedule☹️. Any tips on how to help her?

Tip #1, almost never follow planta’s schedule for watering, it almost always leads to overwatering when people say they do. I use it as a reminder to check the soil, but each plant has different care needs and would like do be different levels of dry before watering. I usually watch YouTube care videos on each of my plants to know when my plants want water. As for reviving them, I’m not sure. I’ve never brought an overwatered plant back before but I think the first thing you do is check the roots and get rid of any that have rotted.

I second this! My string of hearts is doing quite well, but she likes to dry out at least 50% before watering again. I also use Planta’s schedule as a list of who to check, but don’t water if the soil is still more damp than it needs to be. I really like Tanner the Planter’s soil checking method because he uses percentages (makes more sense than inches to my brain), so definitely check him out if you start watching videos on your plants!

Got it so I should let it dry out?

Definitely at least a little. Another good trick if you’re unsure is the “taco test.” If you can fold the leaves end to end like a taco, it’s thirsty. If the leaves are too firm to make the ends touch, it’s still good!

Any string of (name) ex hearts don’t like a lot of water but like to be watered I would put in some plant food in a spray bottle and mist it Monday and Thursday’s
