I just found a bunch of little white bugs in my plants! How do I get rid of them? I tried hydrogen peroxide yesterday but I still see them! What is the best way to kill them quickly?

Do they fly? Can you get a picture?

Yeah i've started to notice gnats which is what caused me to look closer

Usually that means it’s being over watered if they have gnats. I’m not sure about the white bugs could be white flies if they fly, could be mealy bugs if not. Hopefully someone else knows how to help. I’m having a mealy bug problem and so stressed out I’ve tried everything and there’s just so many. so frustrating!

It pops up out of no where and spreads so quick! its terrible

this is what one looks like. I've gone crazy with insect killing spray but it doesn't affect them, planning on letting the soil dry out completely and using a different treatment

If they look like this, they are mealy bugs! AKA the worst. They like to spread quickly, so definitely look online for a mixture you can make to get rid of them. That’s what I did! I can’t remember the exact thing, but it worked pretty well! Good luck!

If they’re tiny specks and you notice webbing on the plants then they’re spider mites.

#### Bailey ha respondido el 2025-05-11

They have just been staying in the soil, i think they are soil mites or springtails

#### Victoria Maddison ha respondido el 2025-05-12

If they are springtails they actually are harmless to your plant :) no worries there.

I made the mistake once of killing one of my favorite first plants (birds nest fern) because I thought it was infested 😖 turned out they weren’t pests and I totally under watered the plant for nothing trying to kill the bugs
