Hi folks. New to the world of plant parenting. I now have 4 though. My money tree is my problem child, at least right now. Trying to suss out what the problem is. When I look up possible issues it’s very broad: COULD be overwatering or under watering, too much sun or not enough. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Pics taken today. A lot of the growth looks nice and healthy green. But some leaves are browning either fully or around the edges. Others have started to kind of…shrivel? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

How close is your money tree to the window, and what direction does the window face? I have had two money trees for about a month or so and they are both in eastern facing windows, about one foot away. So far they are doing well but it could just be luck. I would say I water mine every 1-2 weeks when top 1-2 inches feels dry.

It’s unfortunately not super close to a window. I’ve set up a grow light to compensate. I water it when the soil is dry.

how much sun is it getting? if it gets too much it could get burned. it also looks under watered.

I have it under a grow light but at like the lowest setting to compensate for the fact that it’s kind of far from a window, due to the set up of my apartment. I only water it every week or two. Right now, soil is still a bit damp from last watering about a week ago. Not wet but a bit moist about an inch into the soil.

Definitely let the soil dry completely before watering again, their trunks hold water. What kind of potting soil are you using? It might be holding too much moisture. I did a mix of cactus and tropical soil, didn’t water it for a couple weeks and mine is happier than ever; I water maybe once a month.

I’ve had my money tree for a year now and I’ll start by saying that it can be finicky. I also have mine directly in front of an east facing window where it gets good morning sun for several hours. I have it in a fast draining soil mix and I water it ~1x week. Feel the first 1-2 inches of the soil, if it feels dry, then it’s time to water. Personally, I would also remove the green tie around the top of the braid.

Yeah I checked the soil and it’s still damp about an inch down. I don’t want to over water it. I’ll remove the green tie though. I forgot it was even there. 😂

OK, then I would say give it more ☀️
