# Is my rubber plant overwatered? I watered it 9 days ago and hadn’t…

Is my rubber plant overwatered? I watered it 9 days ago and hadn’t watered it for a few weeks before that. Now the bottom two leaves are turning colors. The top 2 inches of the soil are dry but the soil around the drainage holes feels damp.

I think this is probably a watering issue, going into the winter you’ll want to decrease watering, especially if you keep your house cooler. The soil takes longer to dry out with the decreased light/lower temps.

I have a heating pad that I’ll put under plants occasionally (very low) to help them with the temps.

Could be that it’s just older leaves it’s done with but I’m less inclined to think that.
