What is the problem with my Monstera? It sits in a plastic pot with drainage and gets a moderate amount of sun… I’m trying to figure out if I have root rot or something like that.

Can you show photos I’d the white plant?

Is the spot crispy or soft?

I’d say it feels a little softer that the leaf around it

It might be a humidity issue. I had a pothos near my kitchen sink and part of the leaf became soft and black with the higher humidity. I moved it away and haven't had any more issues.

looks to possibly be fungal, yellow ring around dead tissue is usually fungus or bacteria. cut off that leaf and treat the whole plant with a spritz of fungicide. neem oil can work but if the infection spreads, don't waste your time, just get a copper based fungicide lol
