# My gf and I moved to a new place 6 days ago and our once thriving…

_Gepostet von Jack\_R am 2024-07-06_

My gf and I moved to a new place 6 days ago and our once thriving aloe plant is now brown and sad af :( we had it on the top of our cabinets at the old house about 15 feet from the windows and rarely watered it and it was so happy. We watered it a few days before moving and then put it outside here at the new place for about 2/3 days and in that short amount of time it has taken a huge turn for the worse. Please help

It looks like it might have gotten a bit of temperature shock. I’d try to bring it back inside for a bit and then gradually get it used to being outside. You could start by putting it on in the morning or evening when it’s a bit cooler! Aloe are pretty good at bouncing back. You may have to trim some of the crispy ends though

I had the same issue. Yours look just like mine did when I tried to transition them outside slowly with mostly shade but with some morning sun, dry heat and some rain showers….they hated it. I brought mine back in and within 2 weeks they began to improve and even get their color back.

Rain showers probably made it worse because it’s easy to overwater aloe. That and the heat was a double whammy. I’m glad it perked back up quickly for you.❤️ Thankfully they are resilient!😊

Yep, I agree with everyone else. Indoors in the AC, several feet away from a window to outside in the heat and lots of sun is a huge shock. My advice would be to put it back inside until it perks up. Once it looks better, start with closer to a window for more light than before. After a few days, progress to on a porch, in the shade for a few hours a day…then on the porch all day to acclimate to the heat. Then move it to a brighter spot on the porch for a few days to a week. Keep moving it to a sunnier spot every few days until you get it to where you are wanting to keep it.

As for water, remember to only water it once the dirt is dry and the lower leaves don’t feel as firm. That could be anywhere between a once a week to once a month depending on a lot of factors. Definitely don’t water any more for a while. It looks like the dirt is still wet from when you watered it before you put it outside which means it didn’t need any water so it can’t uptake it. Maybe put a fan in front of it to dry it out faster.
