# Help! I got Lily a week ago and repotted her. The new soil and pot I…

_Postat av Hiddengraces den 2024-07-07_

Help! I got Lily a week ago and repotted her. The new soil and pot I got had a hard time draining her and my new apartment gets more sun than I’m used to and I accidentally sunburnt her a little. After watering yesterday her spots got worse and developed white spots on the bottom of the leaves. I think she’s over watered, so I repotted her in (moist but not wet) soil with more pearlite and a rocky layer at the bottom. I didn’t see any root rot but I’m hoping the repotting in drier and better draining soil helps! I trimmed her leaves too but any help or tips is appreciated!! Has anyone else gotten little white dots on the bottom of their leaves?

Hi I believe the white spots are mineral deposits from either hard water, over watering or an up in humidity levels. I don’t believe they are harmful to the plant but you should be able to wipe them off gently if you want

White spots on the bottom of pilea leaves are completely normal. Additional good news- pileas love lots of light! Mine is in a window with lots of sun and loves it. I’d give it a few months to get used to its new surroundings before doing anything else. They don’t love change. Be chill and let it do its thing. ☺️

Thank you both for the help!! I hadn’t read about them being more sensitive or often going into shock after being put in a new place/being repotted! That makes me feel a lot better about her leaves. She’s looking a little rough after my panic repot but her new leaves are growing and she’s still perky so I’m gonna leave her be and let her adjust. Should I wait a while before pruning her or should I prune her now so she has more energy to grow new leaves?

I wouldn’t prune. I don’t think I’ve ever pruned mine, to be honest. Old leaves may fall off when they get ready from time to time… i just let mine do its thing.
