So my fiddle leaf fig has been like this for about 4-5 months…just a stick in a pot of soil. Its leaves were slowly falling off but I didn’t know why and I wasn’t moving it. They kept falling until it became like this. Then just stopped doing anything. It hasn’t been growing any leaves, growing more little stalk things, not growing towards the light and just not responding to any stimuli/being watered. I bet it’s probably not even growing any roots. Does anyone know why this is happening? It might be because it’s under an AC but I’m not sure.

They DO hate a draft but don’t be too hard on yourself. This is an expert level/hard plant to keep alive, let alone thrive. I don’t know if it can be saved but maybe try to check the roots. If they’re mushy or so dried out that they snap, it might be time to adopt a new plant. 💔

+1 ^^

I don’t think I’ve been overwatering or underwatering it but I’ll check.

It’s more than just watering, it’s appropriate sunlight, high humidity, constant/regulated temperature, proper \& drainage. Like I said, very difficult to maintain if you’re not in a tropical environment or cannot provide a tropical environment. ❤️🪴

The roots looked fine to me but I couldn’t see many.

I’ve seen people doing this without a tropical environment.
