# ROOT HELP - I have a Red Star Bromeliad that was once a full single…

ROOT HELP - I have a Red Star Bromeliad that was once a full single plant then later shot off a bunch of babies. Eventually one of the smaller guys even outgrew the mother plant and grew big enough it self-separated. In all each plant is about 3/4 yrs old. Long story short, I can never get them to root. All 4 of these bromeliads literally have ZERO roots and have NEVER had any, should I need roots? and how can I promote them?

although they haven’t rooted, my small ones seem to do just fine sitting on top of well draining soil. i’ve also tried to keep them in water and they grew but still didn’t root.
