# hey friends! doing a little bit of a panic right now. these plants…

_Publié par max le 2024-03-07_

hey friends! doing a little bit of a panic right now. these plants were living in a not great pot so i moved them out and into some water for about 2 weeks while i was getting supplies. i repotted them 2 days ago into separate pots with drainage holes and a mix of regular potting soil + soil for violets (it’s just what i had). i’ve been trying to keep the soil moist but not wet. since then i’ve noticed some tips getting yellow, and now whole leaves since this morning. is this shock? something else? any and all help would be super duper appreciated 💚🪴

how often do you water?

that soil might be holding on to too much water. most plants don’t like their soil to be kept moist (ferns and calathea and plants like that DO like it but most do not).

i watered them after they were repotted and then yesterday night. about 48hrs in between them

oh dear, that’s definitely too much water in a short amount of time and especially if the soil is a little dense. your best bet (which I hate saying because it’s already under shock from repotting but..) is to take them out and put them in fresh, dry soil as the soil around the roots will likely still be very wet. if the roots are too wet, VERY lightly water and get it near some nice indirect bright light.

oh no okay :( i was so worried abt them drying out but i always forget it’s better to underwater than overwater! i’ll see what i can do today/maybe tomorrow. i’d hate for the roots to get rotted but im so scared of doing more damage! thank u for you your help \<3

it’s a fine line, for sure but it’s better to save the roots.
