Could be powdery mildew. Pretty common in violets. Separate that bad boy asap though because it spreads like crazy. Maybe Google some pics and if you think that’s it a spray fungicide from Bonide got rid of mine. However…

Could just be moldy soil. Is it greenish? Probably mold. I’d repot and change the soil out. Hope that helps.

It is most likely some type of slime mold that will appear if the pot is kept too moist for too long. Slime mold is harmless to the plant and you can just scrape it off if you don't like it. Powdery mildew will typically appear more on the leaves or stems and not on the soil. If you choose to spray anything on a violet you should do so judiciously because violets don't like their leaves to be wet especially with water that is not room temperature.

Also, it will be fine in the pot that it's in for a while. Violets like to have their leaves extend beyond the edge of the pot by about 1/3 of its size. You can repot it if you want but do not go into a bigger pot.

Powdery mildew is a fungus starting from watering and no good air circulation in the area you have the plant sitting in. I would make more room for the flower. To get rid of the mildew in the soil get a spray bottle do half water to hydrogen peroxide mix. Use peroxide sparingly in the water you don’t want to burn the plant. This plant needs to be isolated from your other plants, any leaves with the mildew should be cut away, start bottom watering this plant they hate for their foliage to get wet or I would suggest putting this plant in a self watering pot. Also keep this plant in a well location it does not like to be in dim spots
