# I have a satin pothos that is generally in good health, but lots of…

_Publié par Peyton le 2024-10-06_

I have a satin pothos that is generally in good health, but lots of leaves have brown edges or ends, even if they’re brand new. She also isn’t super full and the leaves curl slightly in even when freshly watered. I notice the soil stays “wet” (not “moist” or “dry”) according to my plant water meter for weeks. It’s been 17 days since my last water and she is still “wet” or high end of “moist”. I bought new soil that is specifically for pothos and planned to repot. Do I need to wait for soil to dry out first, and do I water her right away after repotting? I’m not sure what will shock her and she’s my first plant so I wanna try not to kill her.

Are you trusting your plant meter 100%, or do you feel the soil with your finger? Sometimes depending on what’s in the water/soil it can trick the meter!

I feel with my finger as well as look at the soil and the soil feels damp, even near the top.

Okay, I’d water it after repotting, yes!

I would repot in fresh soil, take a look at roots for damage and trim anything mushy or dry and brittle. I probably wouldn’t upsize at all, possibly even downsize depending on the root ball size. Might want to try putting in a brighter location.
