Hey friends! This is my Ficus Elastica the day I got her (maybe like a week or so) vs. today ˙◠˙

I had her under a grow light with some of my full sun plants, I think she might have dried out too much and was possible stressed by moving from the store to my home. I watered her and put her in my bright-indirect light window, and I tried Dr Planta but it didn't give me any answers really. Will she recover?? I've never had this kind of plant before. Thanks !! 🌿💚

It honestly could just be from the neem oil especially if it got direct sun even for a short time. My plumerias every year come in with spider mites and at first we used neem but they like lots of sun. All of the leaves turned brown and fell off. I read later that you shouldn’t expose them to sun if you use that. I make my own remedy now.

She could recover. I think your right and the light was too much. With new plants I will try to slowly add more and more hours of light, so there's no scorching or burning. Is the soil dry when you water?

The soil is dry when I water but never brittle, but when I found her drooping like that she was bone dry. I moved her and am giving her better soil than the store stuff

You may need to adjust the watering schedule it sounds like. Though if you moved her out of the brighter light it may be morecon point now

That happened with mine after coming back from vacation and leaving her in a windowsill while my area went through a sudden cold spell. They do not like the cold, so it could definitely be from the shock of a new home, especially during this season. I’ve unfortunately found that once they droop like that for a while, they can get stuck like that even after the plant starts recovering, but after cutting the affected leaves off, they started growing a new ones back within a month or so. My Tineke is definitely the most finicky of my ficus elasticas, so please don’t think it’s solely something you did wrong. The ficus family can be very finicky, even with experienced houseplant owners.
