# So my roommate needs help reviving this Chinese Evergreen plant. I’m…

So my roommate needs help reviving this Chinese Evergreen plant. I’m still a beginner and not sure what to do. It was living outside and it seemed to be getting scorched so I brought it inside and it’s under a grow light. Should I just chop it? Or let it be and see if it does anything. The leaf is looking real rough and not sure it can be saved. Thanks in advanced!

The leaf is gone. You could try letting it acclimate after checking the roots. Mine didn't recover doing that though. You should be able to unpot it, clean up any dead or damaged roots, get as much soil off of the roots as possible, and put it in a clear clam shell container on a few layers of damp paper towel (or long fibered sphagnum), and put it under grow lights. It should recover that way, but will require slowly acclimating it to normal household humidity once it has recovered enough to plant again. These really love chunky aerated, breathable soil.
