So one morning. I accidentally forgot to water for only one day. ONE DAY. And my purple waffle plants… Threw. A. Tantrum. They wilted, turned yellow and brown, crisped over, and became crunchy. I watered them and they became happy. Then it was regular watering day again, and they suddenly threw another freaking tantrum as if they had been through a drought. EVEN THOUGH I JUST WATERED THEIR BUTTS. I clipped off some paper of the awful ones. And it’s putting out new leaves but. What should I do?

in general, you want to find what works best for u and your plant  
you could try  
\- bottom watering  
\- a self watering pot  
\- checking the soil after you water to make sure it thoroughly absorbed the water and is not hyrdophobic  
\- you can aliviate this by either bottom watering it, or switching out a soil for a better, looser one containing less peat

Most definitely a self watering pot and if you don’t have one a humidifier is helpful also. Hope this helps

I have had to bury a few of these waffle plants. They are so pretty. You are not alone.
