# My satin pothos’ leaves are turning yellow, curling, and dropping.…

_Publicado por Bob’s Beauties el 2025-02-19_

My satin pothos’ leaves are turning yellow, curling, and dropping. Her vines have grown super long but no new leaves. Worried about her, and she’s over two years old.

I repotted her last month, has drainage, not sure what kind of sun she needs, I’ve read a lot of mixed sunlight recs, some say shady others say their pothos love direct sunlight.

Please help me!!! xoxo Katie

It needs bright light based on the leaf drop, yellowing and large gaps between the leaf nodes. It can take direct morning light before noon or when it’s placed in an east window or outside in an east facing location. Give it bright shade the rest of the day. A grow light running 12 hours is an alternative. The leaves grow bigger with more light.

The bare vines on my photo with smaller leaves were grown indoors during winter with lower lighting. The older section was outside in bright light the summer before.

Cut off the vines back to the rim of the pot. Propagate the cuttings. Add diluted fertilizer to the main pot every two weeks. I also addSuperThrive plant vitamins. 🪴🍀

I wish mine looked like yours. Thank you for the good info.

They thrive given enough bright light and regular fertilizer. I tend to under water more than overwater these. They can stay a bit dryer than my pothos. The leaves fold slightly when they need water. They yellow as quickly as pothos leaves. They scroll like a calathea when dehydrated or in low light too long

looks like it needs more sun. another comment already mentioned all this but i’m just seconding them. i would just cut the vines short, propagate from them, and start anew. i had to do the same thing with my golden pothos but it’s long and thriving again. best of luck :)

Definitely more sun. In order to make the pot more full, as the vine grows, anchor some of the stems to the soil. Try to get nodes against the soil so they will root. Just sorta circle the stems within the pot. Makes for a much denser plant. Pic is a prop. I have added a couple stem anchors to it.
