Any idea of what may be causing the brown spots? Purchased 7/20, watered twice since, near an east-facing window, potted in a mix of orchid bark and regular soil..

Mechanical damage most likely, will be ok watch the watering habits. Let the soil dry a little before watering or once the plant starts to show drying symptoms. Eventually fertilize would help color up but not needed as of yet.

Awesome! I’m completely green to plants, so what are some drying symptoms to watch out for?

Golden pothos are a bit dramatic so it’s easy to tell. They’ll begin to look floppy and have their leaves curl inwards when they get thirsty. They’ll go back to normal once they are watered.

P.G answered that question well 🤗
