My polka dot plant is SO sad :( it was all dry and crispy at the start so I decided to water it. 2-3 hours later I check up on it and it’s so mushy and soft, and it just looks bad. It’s repotted but doesn’t have any holes. I usually don’t do this with any of my plants but I was going to assume it would’ve been fine. I don’t think it has root rot but I need help. Any recommendations will be taken 🙏.

I would honestly be surprised if it came back from that :(

Thanks, I don’t think I can save it

If the pot doesn’t have drainage it could be drowning. Or in shock from going from super dry to super wet

Have you repotted since it has been in this state? If not… that might be your last home. Find something small and shallow. That way there’s more air flow for it’s roots. No way to know if it’s root rot or not until you pull it up. That’s my advice. Of course if you decide to repot definitely pull off any roots that do not appear to be in strong healthy condition.

I don’t think terracotta is the best choice as they are humidity loving plants that don’t like to dry. If you think there is still hope you can try putting it in a ziplock bag or put a clear container over it to increase the humidity. But honestly I don’t want to give you false hope. Good luck
