# Help! I got this plant for Christmas and a couple of the leaves had…

Help! I got this plant for Christmas and a couple of the leaves had brown on them. I thought I was over watering it, but I’ve been waiting to water and it’s still not getting any better. Any ideas?

It looks to me like root rot could have gotten to it, is the soil still damp?

Yes a little damp. Should I repot?

Yeah take it out as soon as you can, it’s probably root rot. If there are any nodes or roots left clean them off and then put it in water to help them grow back

I would take it out of the pot and check the roots. If the are any rotted roots, cut them off and spray the roots with peroxide. Repot in a pot that’s just 2” bigger than the root ball.

My ppp did the same thing. It lost all its leaves but I still have the stem growing under a grow light
