Anyone have any idea what happened to my fig plant and also how i can go forward properly?

I bought the plant a month ago and the top light leaf is the first growth since ive owned it.

Ive heard anywhere from over watering/underwatering, too much sun/too little sun etc

Im a novice plant owner, ive managed to keep most of mine alive and to continue growing although i do not know much about the specifics.

Any help would be appreciated

It’s hard to say. But since you’ve only had it a month, I’d give it some more time to adjust before jumping to any conclusions just yet. He may have been in shock. They lovvvvve consistency, they hate change. What’s worked for me is- Give him lots of bright light (mine’s in my brightest window), water when half dry, feed fertilizer regularly, clean his leaves often. 🙏🏼🌿
