Hi there. I’d welcome some feedback on my Majestic Palm. I’ve had her for a few years and she’s always been very happy. In the summer I move her outside where she gets lots of direct sun (I’m in Atlanta). In the cooler months she lives in this south facing window.

Over the last couple of months her leaves have turned brown and crispy. I removed some but they continue to brown. I mist it every other day. It’s not near a heater. I water as often as Planta tells me too (every couple of weeks) however the soil does feel pretty dry. I added some more potting soil with peat moss a couple months ago and that seems like it might have been the catalyst. Any ideas?

How much water do you give her?

Maybe half a gallon or so?

This looks like the need for more humidity!! It’s absolutely stunning though, literal goals! Okay back on track here, misting usually is not sufficient for high humidity needing plants. I would highly suggest getting a humidifier and putting it right next to the plant. Keep it away from heaters and drafts as well. It might also be needing more water, but I’d try solving with humidity first!

And if it is dry, water it, even if Planta says it’s not time yet! Its schedule is a guideline only!!

Thanks for the reply. I don’t \*think\* humidity is the issue. My house is super humid and there’s no heat in here, but I’ll try moving my humidifier and see if that helps!

That makes sense with you being in Atlanta! Worth a shot at least! My only other thought is some sort of watering issue, like too little or something.

Hi! I’m in a similar boat, did you discover what ended up helping yours? I was watering every other day per someone on Reddit but then Planta and others suggested weekly? I misted every day.

I keep buying palms. They keep getting spider mites. I treat but they die anyway. 🤦‍♀️ They sure are pretty for a little while though.
