# Hi guys! Need some advice about my Jade plant. He is getting 6 hours…

Hi guys!

Need some advice about my Jade plant. He is getting 6 hours of sunshine, watered regularly but not over watering him. He keeps dropping leaves and is so sparse in the winter months. Worried about him, I have changed the soil and repotted him about 6 weeks ago as there was some white appearing on his soil... There are flies around the plant sometimes.

I have attached a photo of now and about 8 months ago.

Does the pot have drainage? Succulents like jade plants like to be watered deeply (until water is draining out of the soil), then left to dry out fully. Make sure you’re using a cactus/succulent soil with good drainage, too.
