does anyone know what the pinkish tinge is? I’ve been trying to regrow this after it got root rot and it’s been under a grow light for a couple weeks. no clue if it’s normal or some sort of disease 😂 appreciate any help

forgive me if it’s not the right plant species linked I had a hard time identifying it 🥲

What was said above (sun stress). I started experimenting a bit with sun stress and got this (it used to be bright green). I’m still, though, about 50% sure I know what I’m doing :)

You have the right label, it’s a variegated Cuban oregano, the common name, a coleus. I have this plant. I cook with it. It delicious!😆

The pink is part of the variegation. I’ve seen it on the plants. I assume it’s caused by sun exposure. But, it could just be part of the plant as it grows. You have to google it for more info.

Coleus plants like full sun, well draining soil that dries between watering since they are fleshy and store lots of water in their stems. So, overwatering will cause them to quickly rotten. They dramatically droop when they need water.

Their colors deepen in full sun. Gradually, move it to a location to get 6 hours of sunlight or add a grow light.

Your small plant needs more soil to lift it above the pot rim or it might rot from lack of air circulation and slow drying of the soil. Plus more soil means more volume for root growth.

Fertilize once a month with diluted fertilizer. Add plant vitamins with SuperThrive each month. Good luck🍀🪴
